Now I know that there is plenty of novel writing software available out there where you can coordinate all aspects of your story from character family trees, images, plot points and the tale itself. But sometimes the file format from these novel programs do not transfer easily to the KDP website. (Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing website)

I found that the easiest and probably most basic software for starting your book is actually Microsoft word. You can set up the indents and table of contents easily and then save it as a html document when complete.

The novel writing softwares are however still helpful for keeping all the novel ancillaries together.
